The Wiwynn Foundation has teamed up with CommonWealth Education Media to publish《 聽! 珊瑚在說話 》(literally translated as Listen! The Coral is Talking), a children's picture book aimed at instilling early ocean literacy. Launched on June 7 at the New Taipei City Main Library ahead of World Oceans Day, the book aligns with UN SDGs 13 (Climate Action) and 14 (Life Below Water). Key attendees included Wiwynn Foundation Director Yang Wan-ju, Wiwynn HR Director Chung Chia-hsin, CommonWealth Education Media and Publishing Deputy GM Lin Yen-chieh, New Taipei City Library Secretary Chen Wen-tseng, and Friendly Seed Product Planning Manager Huang Pei-wei.
Inspired by Wiwynn’s long-standing "Ocean Hugs" coastal afforestation initiative and its 2025 "Coral Garden Project," the book translates complex issues like coral bleaching into engaging, relatable stories for young readers.
Emily Hong, Chairwoman of the Wiwynn Foundation, stated that the initiative grew out of her focus on global marine debris. She emphasized that despite its vastness, the ocean is extremely fragile, which is why the foundation has prioritized coral restoration and biodiversity since day one. Through this book, she hopes to make ocean conservation accessible to children and inspire the public to embrace the marine environment.
Wiwynn Foundation Director Yang Wan-ju noted that the book features an intuitive coral fold-out page and an appendix covering northern Taiwan's marine life, offering an easy-to-understand look at environmental challenges and restoration. The launch event also included a guided reading and a pledge activity where parents and children wrote down daily conservation goals—such as cutting single-use plastics—turning ocean knowledge into tangible everyday action.
