As server power density continues to increase in modern AI and high-performance computing applications, direct liquid cooling (DLC) has become a critical thermal management solution for next-generation data centers.
This whitepaper presents the design guideline and validation methodology of a modular direct liquid cooling testing platform developed for thermal and hydraulic performance evaluation. The platform integrates coolant circulation, temperature control, flow regulation, data acquisition, and safety protection into a unified architecture to provide stable and repeatable testing conditions.
Key design considerations including flow capability estimation, filtration performance, closed-loop architecture, monitoring systems, and protection mechanisms are discussed. In addition, hydraulic and thermal characterization methods such as PQ curve analysis and thermal resistance evaluation are introduced. The proposed platform demonstrates improved operational convenience, testing efficiency, and system reliability, providing an effective foundation for DLC component characterization and server-level thermal validation.
