Wiwynn Empowers the Cloud and the Edge with Pervasive Computing Power and Exhibits at OCP Global Summit 2020

Utilizing modular design to flexibly deliver workload optimized solutions

San Jose, CA – April 28th , 2020 – Wiwynn(TWSE: 6669), an innovative cloud IT infrastructure provider for data centers, showcases their latest server fleets for applications spanning from the cloud to the edge at the OCP Global Virtual Summit 2020, May 12-15.

“We are thrilled to embrace booming opportunities from cloud and edge fueled by AI and 5G,” said Emily Hong, CEO and President at Wiwynn. “To provide customers the best TCO, our latest products are implemented with state-of-the-art modular design which leverage field-proven products and standardized interfaces. Combined with Intel processor innovations, Wiwynn’s cutting-edge cloud and edge servers can assist service providers to accelerate innovations and to expand their services with performance, reliability, availability, serviceability and scalability.”

Wiwynn architected the next generation OCP cloud computing platforms, SV5100G4 and SV7100G4, for the upcoming 3rd Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable processor (codename Cooper Lake) -which will deliver enhanced capabilities, and higher memory bandwidth. Plus, its built-in AI acceleration engine, Intel Deep Learning Boost is adding new BFloat16 support, which will enable extended AI inference and training capabilities.

SV5100G4 evolved from the OCP Project Olympus specifications. It is designed for two Intel Xeon Scalable processors and workload optimized for multiple XaaS applications. The 4OU SV7100G4 is composed of up to 12 single socket server nodes. By plugging in PCIe expansion modules, customers can configure the most optimized building blocks for their various applications and evolving requirements.

For the 5G era and the flourishing edge applications, Wiwynn unveiled two short depth server solutions for service providers to deploy at the edge sites. The 3U five-node EP100 is based on the OCP openEDGE Chassis specifications for carriers’ network function virtualization (NFV) revolution. The 5G virtualized radio access network (vRAN) and 5G multi-access edge computing (MEC) applications are implemented on EP100 for live demonstration. The 2U edge solution—ES200 is designed for two future Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors and flexible storage modules. The future-ready design is excellent for the booming intelligent edge and IoT applications.

“Through years of deep collaborations, we’re excited to see Wiwynn, embracing the latest technology with future 3rd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors to deliver innovative and modularized solutions,” says Anurag Handa, Vice President, Cloud and Enterprise Solutions Group, Intel Corporation.  “Furthermore, the built-in AI acceleration innovations will enable service providers additional capabilities to optimize workloads for customers’ evolving needs.”
