Following the Board of Directors meeting today, Wiwynn Corp. announced consolidated revenue of NT$33.346 billion, operating profit of NT$1.724 billion, profit before tax (PBT) of NT$1.714 billion, profit after tax (PAT) NT$1.369 billion, and basic earnings per share (EPS) of NT$7.84 for the third quarter ended September 30, 2019.
In the third quarter, the number of server shipments continued to increase but was offset by the continuous price drop of key components, resulting in decreases in both average selling price and cost. Year-over-year, third-quarter revenue was therefore declined by 31.3%, while overall profitability was improved. Gross margin for the quarter increased by 1.7ppt to 7.5%, operating margin increased by 1.1ppt to 5.2%, PAT margin increased by 1.0ppt to 4.1%.
In the first 9 months of this year, consolidated revenue reached NT$114.046 billion, which decreased by 15.2% year-over-year. The overall profitability was improved. Gross margin for the period increased by 0.7ppt to 6.8%, operating margin increased by 0.7ppt to 4.7% and PAT margin increased by 0.5ppt to 3.7%. EPS was NT$25.18, decreased from NT$29.62 in the same period of the prior year. The lower EPS is the diluted result of the capital increase in March this year for listing on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
For the fourth quarter of the year, the data center demand is expected to improve continuously. The company stays optimistic and will be cautiously watching.
