Amazon and Wiwynn announced a facility expansion in Socorro, Texas, to boost U.S. manufacturing and create nearly 1,000 jobs.
The expanded site helps to strengthen Amazon’s supply chain with U.S.-manufactured server racks.
Amazon has invested more than $100 billion in Texas since 2010, with 86,000 employees working across the state.
Amazon and Wiwynn announced an expansion of Wiwynn’s manufacturing operations in Socorro, Texas. Together, the companies expect to create nearly 1,000 new advanced manufacturing jobs by the end of 2027. Wiwynn’s continued investment supports growing customer demand and will bring total employment at the facility to over 2,500 next year, with further growth to 4,000 employees expected at full capacity.
Wiwynn supports Amazon’s data center infrastructure by manufacturing and integrating server systems and racks, helping to provide the hardware and capacity needed to support Amazon’s growing cloud infrastructure across the U.S. The facility is part of Amazon's broader effort to strengthen its supply chain by bringing production of custom hardware to the U.S. and building domestic capacity for Amazon’s infrastructure needs.

Amazon's data centers power the services millions of people and businesses rely on every day, from hospitals and emergency services to streaming entertainment and AI innovation. Wiwynn’s server racks are a critical part of that infrastructure, and together, these investments help fuel the U.S. economic engine. Since 2017, data center activity has grown U.S. manufacturing jobs by nearly 70% to over 200,000 jobs*.
Wiwynn’s new facility builds on Amazon’s long-term presence in Texas. Since 2010, Amazon has invested more than $100 billion in the state, including infrastructure and employee compensation. Those investments have contributed more than $110 billion to Texas' economy on top of the company's direct spending. In addition to the 86,000 full- and part-time jobs created across the state, Amazon’s investments support more than 90,000 additional indirect jobs in fields like construction, hospitality, retail, and healthcare.
In the last decade, Amazon has contributed more than $17 million in community giving, with $5 million provided in 2025 alone to 75 local community partners. Amazon used its transportation network to deliver more than 2.2 million meals to local organizations tackling food insecurity and to families experiencing hunger in Texas. The company reached over 100,000 students and 5,000 teachers through education programs and supported over 2 million computer science learning hours. Amazon also mobilized its disaster relief response following the devastating flash floods in Central Texas in 2025. The company delivered more than 155,000 emergency supplies, served as a technology adviser to search-and-rescue crews, and mobilized 600 Amazon volunteers alongside local nonprofit partners.
